Carpenter ant infestations
February 7, 2010 by Aaron Steen
Indoors, nests can be found inside wall voids, in hollow doors, fireplaces, or under porches and in window sills. Tell tale signs of nests are piles of sawdust or insulation. Often times it will appear that someone has bee sawing on a piece of wood. This is due to the carpenter ants excavating the wood to make a hollow area for nests. Some areas may have a “satellite nest” which is a smaller amount of ants that have branched out from the main nest. Even if the satellite nests are eliminated people may still encounter carpenter ant problems until the main nest is located and eliminated.
